Specific Modem Information

This page is intended as a general guide to help determine if your modem is V.90 compatible.  The information found on this page may not apply to all models of the specific modems listed below.  Please choose a modem type from the list below.  If your modem type is not on this list it is because we do not currently have any additional information relating to your V.90 upgrades. Please check this page periodically to see if we have added information about your modem type.  To see our 56-K Flex upgrade page, please click here.

HP Pavilion PC
This modem is also a variation of the LT Winmodem. The latest LT Winmodem code, which Hewlett Packard has available for download, is 5.48. In general, it's best to use the newest code available for your modem, however, a driver 5.18 or newer should work. If you choose to use the generic Lucent driver, please follow all instructions for upgrading an LT Winmodem.

If you wish to use the HP 5.48 driver, please download this driver from Hewlett Packard. Once you have downloaded the lucnt548.exe file, double click on it and follow all instructions on the screen.

LT Winmodem
This modem needs a driver file of version 5.18 or higher. It's best to try to get the driver from your computer or modem manufacturer. If you can't find the appropriate driver from the manufacturer, you can follow the instructions below to use the newest Lucent driver.  Note - the Lucent driver should work fine for connections, however, if your PC manufacturer has added additional non-standard features for your LT Winmodem such as distinctive ring, or caller ID, these features may not work correctly using the generic Lucent driver.

If you wish to use the Lucent driver, please download the Lucent driver file modem549.exe. Once this file is downloaded, double click on it, and follow all instructions on your screen.
